BOB Crufts 2001 and Group 2 with Ch. A. The Diplomat

Ch. Ballyphelan Bran Beag (Strider)

Ch. Ir.Ch. Bokra George Caredig x Ch. Ballyphelan Tiger Lily

Bred by Pam & John Sumner

Tiger Lily is by my Ainsea Rifleman x Ballyphelan Celtic Charm,

Rifleman was a son of Ch. Ainsea Dusty Rose. He was a super mover, he had superb hindquarters and even though his front was not as perfect he could move with reach and drive showing long ground covering easy action, although he never did get a CC, he had 10 RCC's , one at the Breed Club Championship Show and a Best in Show as a Club Open show from 120 dogs entered, always 1st or 2nd in his class. Rifleman was well liked by many of our respected breeders.

Ballyphelan Celtic Charm (2CC's) a lovely bitch and although not made up, was a lovely example of the breed, good movement, a super partner for Rifleman, very well matched. she was put to Rifleman the litter produced included two super youngster, Ch. B. Tarlach Dubh and Ch. B. Tiger Lily, both became Champions and twice did the double at Championship Shows. Tiger Lily was a particularly good example of the breed

As good a reason as any for wanting a puppy from this litter

Strider's movement is as perfect as one could ask for in a Wolfhound, purposeful long easy and effortless, ground covering strides showing reach and wonderful rear drive, which would keep him going on a long days hunting, and he can still show it at 8½ years. He is now a happy retired pet at home and thoroughly enjoying it with his best friend Harmony, sadly we lost Dusty Sim suddenly last year, at 7 Years of age.

Strider has a total of 37 CC's together with 28 RCC's
Best of Breed and Group win in first outing as a veteran in October 2000
Best in Show at Windsor 1998 and 2 Breed Club Best in Shows numerous Group wins and placings, never ignored.

Ch. Ainsea The Diplomat

Total of 20 CC's RCC's
Overall Winner of the Pedigree Masterfoods Championship Stakes Finals 2000
held January 2001, Irish Wolfhound Breed Club Best in Show May 2001 = BOB and Group 2 Crufts 2001 with further 7 CC's in 2001 making a grand total of 20 = he will be shown only very lightly from now on as we have a couple of promising youngsters to concentrate on

Ch. Ainsea Dusty Gem

First Shown at 2 years and 8 months of age just 8 weeks following a litter but taking the CC, this win was followed by 2 RCC's and 2 further CC's and Champion status from only 6 shows

5CC's 2 RCC's only shown 10 times

Ch. Ainsea Fleur

4 CC's RCC's Reserve Best in Show winner of the Irish Guards Shield at the Irish Wolfhound Club Championship Show 2001, 2nd in Open Class Club Championship Show 2001 not shown again in 2001, we had hoped to have puppies, but this is not to be.

Ch. Ainsea Harmony

6CC's RCC's BOB and Group 3 Darlington 1999 Now Retired and living as the family pet with Strider.

Ch. Ainsea Dusty Sim

Died suddenly at just 7 years of age

Gaining her 1st CC at her first show at 19months of age to the Club Championship Show in 1996 and together with the Irish Guards Shield for Best Opposite Sex in Show

she went on to gain 10 CC's including a second time winner of the Irish Guards Shield at the Irish Wolfhound Breed Club Championship Show 1998

Group 3 with her first Best of Bred at Richmond and Group Winner at LKA both 1996

Her last show was Manchester 1999 a short 3 year show career which included time off for a litter of 12 which produced 2 home champions and 2 overseas champions with other equally good show prospects going to pet homes she then retired to make way for her youngsters Diplomat and Dusty Gem, she was in excellent form and lived with Strider as her best mate, but sadly in July 2001 we lost her suddenly, we still miss her.

Ch. Santir General from Ainsea

Died in his 10th year

Bred by John and the late Eileen Bosanquet, out of a bitch bred by me, Ainsea Exquisite Angel and by Solstrand Brigadier at Ainsea. (Brigadier was bred by Dagmar Kenis-Pordham and was by my Ainsea Fusilier a son of the famous Ch. Solstrand Kaspar)

7CC's and RCC's

Ainsea Fascination (Breige)

2 CC's RCC's

Died in her 10th year

Breige was sold as a puppy to a lovely family but unfortunately they had to part with her when she was almost 2 years as their circumstances changed, so of course I had her back, she had grown into a lovely bitch and although had quite a short show career and very lightly shown as she had to share the show scene with her mates she managed to gain 2 CC's and RCC's she also produced Harmony and Lord Hesketh, Harmony became a Ch, but Lord Hesketh who is a good looking wolfhound, very strong, he did not enjoy showing particularly, so when Strider became a Ch., we decided to leave him at home, as although Hesketh was almost unbeaten at that point, we didn't think he would ever beat Strider, he and Harmony are still with us and happy.

Ainsea Harvest Moon (Amy)

Died at only 6 years, kindly by the Vet, following a severe Kidney infection leading to irreparable failure

2 RCC's

Mated to Hibeck Hardy this litter produced Ch. Dusty Sim and NZ Ch Ainsea Guardsman. Amy was a lovely girl again with super easy movement she was not shown heavily but when out usually gained a 1st or 2nd place, we decided to stop showing her because we had a problem stopping her stripped the hair off her extremely long tail, although it was never sore or damaged keeping it covered was the only way it stopped her, but it was always a worry just in case she should chew and swallow the covering, in the end it was easier to leave her at home in peace, sadly we lost Amy 12 weeks after whelping her litter, she had kidney failure. We are forever grateful that having the litter was not a waste of her life, as she produced Dusty Sim which was some comfort. Amy was such a strong powerful lady and we are proud to have bred her.

Ch. Ainsea Dusty Rose

Died in her 10th year

Rosie was our 1st Champion and very fondly remembered

a daughter of the famous Ch. Solstrand Kaspar, her type still is still coming through in my bitch lines and recognised by people who knew her. She attended the Club Open Show aged 9 years 3 months, simply to have her heart tested by Dr. Serena Brownlie, her test did not show any problems, so because we were there, we entered her in Veteran Bitch, she surprised us all by being awarded Reserve Best In Show, such an honour at that age.
